4/19/12 Blood Drive Update.

Hey Loyal Readers,

If you have read the posting for all the events of the year, you would have noticed that next week we are supposidly haveing a blood drive. Unfortunatly, we will not be having it. When we went and found out how many guarenteed people it took to get the Red Cross out here, it was way over what the intrests of whom were actually going to give blood.

 If we can get atleast 300 guarenteed people to give blood, we can have the Red Cross come here at Self Storage Depot.

4/12/12 Are you sure your covered if something happened?

This is a re-posting of one of my former blog posts. I believe that this of all my postings is the most important i have written.

On  Friday, February 10, 2012 our sister property, Hudson Self Storage, in Stockbridge GA had a major fire on property. As you can see from the picture, many units were destroyed. Damages are in the thousands of dollars.

As it turns out the Clayton County Convention and Visitor's Bureau had a 12x20 unit that was storing “highly, highly collectible” Gone With the Wind memorabilia from the Road to Tara museum, said  Frenda Turner, a vice president with the Convention and Visitors Bureau, who came to the fire scene Friday to survey the damage.

Turner said that items not currently on display at the Jonesboro museum were stored at the facility.
“We had an awful lot of items that were from the Herb Bridges collection,” Turner told the AJC. Bridges is a noted collector of memorabilia from the book and movie.“One thing that comes to mind, there were large circular poster-type boards that were used at the 1939 premier,” she said. Turner said she feared that most of the items, which she called "irreplaceable,"  were destroyed, “if not by fire, by water.”

Ok, I don't want to scare you by what happened at that facility but I want to put into perspective of what could happen here. I know from looking at the reports that many of our customers don't have insurance on file with us. Our lease does require that all the tenants have a form of insurance on file.

Some Homeowners policys cover a Storage Facility but some do not. In this case, we ask that you check your policy or call your agent. For businesses storing here, most companies business insurance policy cover Storage Facilities but if they don't we have a policy just for them.

As for our insurance, our policies are through Storsmart Insurance. Prices of the policies are very affordable. They range from $8 a month, covering $2,00, to $20 a month for $5,000 coverage. We also have a business policy that can cover more if needed.

I urge our current customers and our new to get insurance. Not just for the affordable price but for the peace of mind to know that if anything were to happen to the facility that their belongings are covered.

4/5/12 It's Almost Easter

Its almost Easter again and you know what that means... Its time to hunt Easter Eggs.

For those in the know, Self Storage Depot is typically open 7 days a week  (9am-6pm Mon-Sat and 1-5pm Sun) but, we WILL be closed this Sunday for Easter.

We are sorry for this incovenience.

3/26/12 March Auction Update


We are still haveing the auction for this month. From my first march auction blog you would have read we are haveing 3 units go up. In all actuality 2 of the tenants of the units on the docket paid up there account. So we are left with only unit 6111 going up for sale. Like before, all I can tell you is that its a 10x10 unit.

3/22/12 Annual Yard Sale

We will be having a Annual Yard Sale here on Friday & Saturday the 30th & 31st of March. Come be a BUYER or SELLER for the event. Rent a Unit to use as your Booth for only $15 or $20 for the WHOLE EVENT!! *Sizes and spaces are limited so reserve your booth today.

When renting a unit as a seller we will provide you with the space. We however will not provide you with a table to use as your cashier table. The Units will be inside one of the Unit blocks so the event will happen rain or shine.

3/11/12 Daylight Savings Blues

On a side note... I dont know if we will be haveing the Yard Sale that is supposedly happening in 2 weeks. Everything is a go for Simple Simons to sell here on those days but if no one gets one of the units to sell in... there is nothing I can do.
